About Us

We are all very proud of our school here at Bacton Primary! Step inside the gates, and you will find a caring community, where children learn confidently in happy surroundings and where everyone is encouraged to do their best in order to reach their full potential. Our school is a place where mutual respect is paramount, having-a-go is part of every day school life, every child is viewed as an individual, lessons are designed to be fun and engaging and opportunities for challenge are provided. To sum us up – it’s all about the children here at Bacton.  They are at the heart of everything we do and the reason why we do it.

Our aim is to prepare each of our pupils with the skills, knowledge, attitudes and abilities for later life.  We hope that their time with us will not only enable them to achieve high academic standards but also provide them with a wealth of happy memories and long-lasting friendships to take with them on their journey.  In the words of one of our pupils – “everyone cares for each other here”.

Here at Bacton Primary, we have 7 classes ranging from Reception to Year 6.  Tucked away behind the local church, our original school building is Victorian in origin and has undergone major improvements and extensions in more recent years.  Our classrooms are bright and modern with state-of-the-art interactive screens to engage and support our pupils. In addition to the classrooms, we have a fully stocked library (including new laptops and iPads), a multi-purpose hall, boys and girls changing rooms and our 'Rainbow Room', which is used for smaller groups of children to work together.

All our own school meals are prepared on site in the school kitchens. Our vast outside space includes a hard court playground with wooden climbing structure, an astro-turf area, our peaceful extensive meadow and our ‘courtyard classroom’ which we are developing into a wonderful outdoor learning space. We have a beautiful wooded area where the children enjoy Forest School lessons, natural shade in summer months and even a picnic lunch when the weather is kind! Our Early Years/Year 1 outdoor area is an engaging and stimulating learning area for our younger children to explore the world around them in a safe and well resourced environment. We also own one of the local community allotments which our older pupils tend to as part of their outdoor learning experience at our school.

We know that our school is an amazing place, but please come for a visit and see for yourself!  We look forward to welcoming you and hope that you will be part of our exciting future.  Contact the school office (01449 781367) to arrange a cup of tea and a tour.
