At our school, culture is not simply a set of words on a page. It is the shared beliefs, values and behaviours that shape the experiences of our pupils, staff, families and governors every day. It can be seen in our classrooms, heard in our conversations and felt in the relationships we build across our school communities.

A positive school culture is one where pupils feel safe, valued and able to succeed; where staff feel trusted and supported; and where high expectations are matched with genuine care and compassion.

How We Developed Our Culture

We wanted to clearly define what makes our school special and what we stand for as a community. To do this, we worked collaboratively with staff to identify the qualities that they see, experience and value every day. Through these discussions, a consistent picture emerged. Together, we distilled these ideas into four key characteristics that underpin everything we do: RICH

R – Respectful

We treat everyone with kindness, dignity and respect. We value different perspectives and foster positive relationships throughout our school community.

I – Inclusive

Every child belongs. We celebrate diversity, remove barriers to learning and ensure that all pupils have opportunities to succeed and thrive.

C – Caring Community

We look after one another and work in partnership with families and the wider community. Wellbeing, compassion and support are at the heart of our school.

H – Hard-Working

We encourage effort, resilience and ambition. We strive for excellence, embrace challenge and take pride in our achievements.

What RICH Means for Our Pupils

RICH is more than an acronym. It is the culture we want every child to experience throughout their time with us. It shapes our curriculum, our behaviour expectations, our relationships and our decision-making.

By being Respectful, Inclusive, a Caring Community and Hard-Working, we create schools where children flourish academically, socially and emotionally, and where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their very best.
