School Council

Two children from each year group are chosen by their classmates at the beginning of each school year.  It is their job to represent their friends and peers within school.  The main job is to be the voice of the pupils and action positive change within the school environment.

Together with Mrs Clarke, the school council meet regularly to discuss ideas and plans for upcoming events.

Not only do we discuss important issues such as anti-bullying, road safety, communication and learning within school, we also organise charity and fundraising events.

Using a democratic vote in each class, the School Council chose to support St Elizabeth Hospice during the Autumn term. They decided to raise money through a sponsored silence, and thanks to the generous donations from our school community, we raised an impressive £520. This is a fantastic achievement and a contribution that will make a meaningful difference.

Children's Mental Health Week

To mark Children’s Mental Health Week, the School Council organised a whole‑school colouring competition based on the theme “My Place.” Pupils were encouraged to reflect on where they feel safe, calm, and most like themselves.

We also hosted a non-uniform day with the theme “Dress to Express”, giving everyone the opportunity to celebrate their individuality through colour, style, and creativity.

Throughout the week, all year groups took part in a special assembly exploring the importance of belonging. We discussed how challenging it can be when you feel like you don’t belong, and how, as a community, we can help each other feel included and valued. Together, we made a shared commitment to show kindness, support one another, and make sure everyone feels that they are a meaningful part of our school.
